Pardee Homes’ vision for Weston is to create an environmentally sensitive community with an emphasis on preserving open space and natural habitat. The community will be situated against the rolling hillsides of eastern San Diego County and pays tribute to the natural terrain by incorporating trail connections to Mission Trails Regional Park, offering new recreational venues for hiking and bicycling enthusiasts. The new homes in the Weston community will be built under Pardee’s LivingSmart® program in order to offer homebuyers state-of-the-art design options with a host of earth-friendly features that honor Pardee’s commitment to sustainable development.

Pardee Homes’ Jimmy Ayala, Division President, is leading the effort to plan and develop Weston. Ayala joined Pardee Homes in 2003 with more than a decade of project management and planning experience. In addition to his oversight of the Weston project, Ayala plays a vital role in the ongoing development of the master-planned community of Ocean View Hills in south San Diego, the approval of the Meadowood community in north San Diego County and the oversight of other Pardee projects throughout the region.

Pardee Homes has established the following objectives for the Weston community:

  • Preserve and protect environmental and visual resources by conserving sensitive lands through the dedication of permanent open space.
  • Include new housing that addresses the serious housing shortage in San Diego County, while making sure the community is in harmony with the surrounding environment.
  • Build parks near homes, accessible by public roads and trails.
  • Contribute to public infrastructure enhancements and water, sewer and utility systems.
  • Require permanent preservation of natural open space areas while allowing public recreational opportunities.

Weston will attract new consumers to the retail market, benefitting the local economy in east San Diego County and neighboring communities.

Pardee is working with the cities of San Diego and Santee, as well as local school districts, the Padre Dam Municipal Water District, Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation and key community and business leaders, to help make Weston one of the region’s best-planned communities.

The Weston community was previously known as Castlerock. A name change was made in Summer 2017 to better reflect the lifestyle and amenities offered within the future development.
